Big news for Xbox fans! Microsoft is finally letting Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers stream some of the games they already own. Starting today, 50 titles like Baldurโs Gate 3, Final Fantasy, and Hogwarts Legacy are now available to play through Xbox Cloud Gaming.
And this is just the beginning. Microsoft says theyโre working to expand the cloud-playable library even further, aiming to include thousands of games in the future. Youโll be able to stream these on your TV, smartphone, tablet, or PC through a browser. Next year, this feature is even coming to Xbox consoles and the Xbox app on Windows.
This is part of โProject Lapland,โ which has been years in the making. The journey hasnโt been smoothโMicrosoft has had to deal with tricky licensing issues, game updates, and save file compatibility. While not every game will make it to the cloud due to publisher restrictions, this move is still a game-changer for Xbox.
Oh, and one more thing: Microsoft was planning to let players buy games directly from its Xbox mobile app for Android this month, but thanks to a Google legal delay, thatโs on hold for now.
What game will you stream first?
