Zomato’s New App ‘District’ Aims to Change Your Going-Out Plans

Zomato is stepping up its game with a brand-new app called District, now live on iOS and Android. This is Zomato’s third big venture after its food delivery service and Blinkit.

So, what’s the buzz about District? It’s Zomato’s way of owning the “going-out” scene. Think movie tickets, live performances, dining, sports events, shopping, and even staycations—all in one app! For now, you can book movies and live events, but it’s just the beginning.

Here’s the kicker: Zomato isn’t just dabbling—it’s going head-to-head with giants like BookMyShow, which owns 60% of India’s movie ticketing market. To get a leg up, Zomato bought Paytm’s Insider for a cool ₹2,048 crore back in August.

Meanwhile, Zomato is on a winning streak financially, reporting a ₹176 crore profit for July-September. That’s five profitable quarters in a row! And with revenue soaring 69% year-over-year, the future looks tasty for Zomato.
