Redmi A4 5G Won’t Work with Airtel’s 5G Network—Here’s Why

Redmi A4 5G Won’t Work with Airtel’s 5G Network—Here’s Why

If you’re eyeing the newly launched Redmi A4 5G, there’s something you need to know before hitting that “Buy” button. While it’s one of the most affordable 5G smartphones in India (starting at just ₹8,499), it won’t support Airtel’s 5G network.

The catch? The Redmi A4 5G only works on SA (standalone) 5G networks. Airtel’s 5G relies on NSA (non-standalone) architecture, meaning Airtel users will be stuck with 4G speeds. On the flip side, Jio users can fully enjoy 5G connectivity since Jio’s network supports SA.

What Makes the Redmi A4 5G Special?

Despite this limitation, the Redmi A4 5G packs some solid features for its price:

  1. Price: ₹8,499 for 4GB/64GB, ₹9,499 for 128GB.
  2. Display: A big 6.88-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling.
  3. Cameras: Dual rear cameras with a 50MP main shooter and a 5MP selfie snapper.
  4. Battery: A massive 5,160mAh battery with fast charging support.
  5. Software: Runs on the all-new HyperOS for a snappy experience.

It’s also built tough with some dust and splash resistance, plus a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for easy unlocking.

Who Should Buy It?

If you’re a Jio user or just want a budget-friendly phone with great features (and don’t care much about 5G yet), the Redmi A4 5G is a steal. But Airtel users looking for 5G speeds? This one might not be for you.
