Apple Says Goodbye to Safari Bookmark Syncing on Older Devices

Got an iPhone or iPad running iOS 10 (or earlier)? Heads up—starting December 18, Apple is dropping support for Safari bookmark syncing on these older devices. The same goes for Macs on macOS Sierra 10.12.5 or earlier.

Here’s what it means: your bookmarks will still work on those devices, and you can create new ones. But syncing them across devices or recovering them on iCloud.com? Nope, that’s off the table unless you update your software.

If you’re on iOS 11 or macOS Sierra 10.12.6 (or newer), you’re in the clear—nothing changes. But if you’re stuck on older versions, Apple recommends updating your device or exporting your bookmarks manually.

Oh, and one more thing: starting December 18, iCloud backups for iPhones, iPads, and iPods will require iOS 9 or later. Miss the update? Apple says your iCloud data could be deleted. So, yeah—time to hit that update button!
