EMI formula
EMI = P × r × (1+r)n / ((1+r)n − 1) where P is principal, r is the monthly rate (annual ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n is the number of months. A longer tenure lowers the EMI but raises total interest.
Frequently asked questions
What is the EMI formula?
EMI = P × r × (1+r)^n / ((1+r)^n − 1), where P is principal, r is monthly rate and n is months.
Does this include processing fees?
No. Banks may add fees, GST on interest or insurance. Treat the result as the core EMI only.
Can I see the amortization table?
Yes. Every month shows opening balance, EMI, interest, principal and closing balance.
Home loan vs personal loan?
The math is the same. Home loans usually have a lower rate and a longer tenure, which cuts the EMI but raises total interest.
Is my loan data saved?
No. Everything stays in the page.
